Add Your Base CV
On this page
Your base CV is the foundation HyperApply uses to generate tailored versions for each job listing. A strong base CV leads to stronger tailored outputs.
What is a base CV?
Your base CV is your “source of truth”—a single document that contains:
- your real experience
- your core skills
- your education and certifications
- key projects and impact metrics
HyperApply uses this information to rewrite and reorganize content to match a specific role.
Upload your base CV
1. Open the HyperApply extension.
2. Go to Settings (or the section labeled Base CV).
3. Upload your base CV file.
4. Wait for processing to complete.
5. Review your parsed profile if the UI shows an editable view.
Tips for a “high-signal” base CV
Include measurable impact
Prefer bullets like:
- “Reduced pipeline runtime by 38% by optimizing X”
over:
- “Worked on ETL pipelines”
Keep job titles and dates clear
This makes your experience easier to structure.
Avoid clutter
Remove overly long paragraphs and focus on:
- scope
- tools/skills
- outcomes
Keep a “master” version
If you apply to different role types, maintain one solid base, then refine:
- an “engineering” emphasis
- a “data” emphasis
- a “product” emphasis
(HyperApply can still tailor, but a better base makes it faster and cleaner.)
Updating your base CV
Update your base CV when:
- you add a new role/project
- you want to sharpen impact metrics
- you’re targeting a different seniority or niche
After updating, regenerate tailored CVs to reflect improvements.
Privacy note (practical)
Your base CV is stored so you can reuse it and generate documents. Job listing content used for tailoring is processed to create the output, but the full job description text is not stored as part of your history.

FAQ
Do I need to rewrite my base CV for every application?
No. You set your base CV once, then generate per-job tailored versions.
Can I have more than one base CV?
Plans may limit the number of active base CVs. If you want multiple role tracks, you can keep separate master versions and switch when needed.
