Troubleshooting: Template Errors

If you suspect a specific template is causing issues (missing sections, broken layout, generation failures), try these steps.

1) Switch templates and regenerate

The fastest isolation test:

  • generate once with your current template
  • generate again with a different template

If the issue disappears, it’s likely template-specific.

2) Shorten problematic content

Templates can break visually when content is extreme:

  • very long bullet lines
  • huge skills blocks
  • repeated long URLs

Fix by shortening and regenerating.

3) Check optional sections

Some templates may hide optional sections if they’re empty.

If you expect Projects/Links/etc., ensure your base CV/profile includes them.

4) If a template consistently fails

Email support:

Include:

  • which template you selected
  • whether it fails for all jobs or only specific ones
  • any error message shown
