OpenAI and Third‑Party Processing Explained

privacy openai third-party trust processing

HyperApply relies on trusted third-party services to provide core functionality—especially AI-assisted document generation.

This page explains, carefully and clearly, what that means for your data.

For the formal policy, see `/privacy.html`.

What third parties HyperApply uses (high level)

HyperApply may use third-party providers for:

  • AI processing (to parse CV content and generate tailored drafts)
  • Database and file storage (to store your base CV, generated documents, and history)
  • Payments (to process subscriptions and handle taxes/invoicing where applicable)

Providers can evolve over time, but the principle remains the same:

HyperApply shares data only when necessary to deliver the service.

OpenAI (AI processing)

HyperApply uses OpenAI-provided models to:

  • parse your base CV into a structured representation
  • extract relevant requirements from job listing content
  • generate tailored CV wording and (where available) cover letters

What data is sent for AI processing

Depending on the action, this may include:

  • relevant parts of your base CV content
  • relevant parts of the job listing content you are viewing (job description text)

What is not stored as part of your history

HyperApply does not store the full job description text as part of your history. The job description is processed to generate outputs and then discarded. HyperApply stores only minimal job metadata so you can find and re-download your documents.

Model training and retention (high level)

OpenAI’s API terms generally state that customer API data is not used to train models by default, and may be retained for a limited period for abuse monitoring and security. Refer to OpenAI’s official policy for the most current details.

Storage providers (database + files)

HyperApply stores:

  • account data
  • base CV/profile data
  • generated documents
  • minimal job metadata for history

Storage is designed to be private and access-controlled (not publicly browsable).

Payment providers

If you purchase a paid plan, payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. That provider receives billing information (such as your email and payment method details). HyperApply does not store full card numbers.

Your controls

  • You can uninstall the extension at any time.
  • You can request account deletion:

FAQ

Do you sell my data to OpenAI?

No. OpenAI acts as a processor to generate outputs for your use.

Do you store full job descriptions?

No. Full job description text is processed for generation and not stored as part of your history.

Can third-party providers change?

They can, but HyperApply’s privacy principles (purpose limitation, minimal storage) remain the same. Significant changes are reflected in the Privacy policy.
