Privacy by Design: Overview

privacy trust security overview

HyperApply is built for individual job seekers. That means privacy is not an add‑on—it’s part of the product design.

This page summarizes the key principles behind how HyperApply handles data. For the legally binding policy, see:

  • `/privacy.html`
  • `/legal.html`

1) You stay in control

HyperApply does not auto-submit applications or take actions on job platforms on your behalf.

You decide:

  • when to generate a CV
  • what to download
  • what to send

2) Minimal storage, maximum usefulness

HyperApply stores only what it needs to provide the service:

  • your account details
  • your base CV and your generated documents (so you can reuse and download them later)
  • minimal job metadata for history (e.g., job title, company, job URL)

3) Job descriptions are processed, not stored

When you generate a CV, the job listing text you can see in your browser is used to tailor your document.

The full job description text is processed to generate the output and is not stored as part of your history.

4) Clear purpose limitation

HyperApply uses data only to:

  • provide the service (account, generation, history)
  • enforce fair usage limits and monitor reliability
  • improve product quality over time

HyperApply does not sell your personal data.

5) Practical security measures

HyperApply uses standard safeguards such as:

  • secure password hashing
  • encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS)
  • restricted access to production systems

See: /docs/security-overview

6) Transparent third-party processing

HyperApply uses third-party providers for core infrastructure and AI processing.

What matters:

  • data is shared only for the specific purpose of providing the service
  • you can review the details in the Privacy & data policy

See: /docs/openai-and-third-party-processing-explained
