Generate a Tailored CV From a Job Post

getting-started generation job-post skills workflow

HyperApply generates a tailored CV from the job listing you’re already viewing in your browser.

Before you start

  • Make sure you’re signed in:

/docs/create-an-account-and-log-in

  • Make sure you uploaded a base CV:

/docs/add-your-base-cv

Step-by-step: generate a tailored CV

1. Open a job listing page.

2. Open the HyperApply panel.

3. Confirm the job context (title/company) looks correct.

4. Review suggested skills and requirements.

  • If something is irrelevant, deselect it (if the UI allows).
  • If something important is missing, note it—then adjust your base CV later.

5. Choose:

  • a template (layout)
  • a writing mode (tone)

6. Click Generate CV.

7. Review the output (fast checklist below).

8. Download as PDF.

Fast review checklist (60 seconds)

  • Summary: does it match the role’s focus?
  • Top skills: are they accurate and truly yours?
  • Experience bullets: do they highlight the most relevant work?
  • Claims: remove anything that feels like an exaggeration.
  • Length: ensure it’s not bloated.

Skill suggestions: how to use them well

Skill suggestions are most useful when you treat them as:

  • “What this role is asking for”

rather than

  • “What I should pretend I have”

Use them to:

  • reorder your skills
  • emphasize relevant projects
  • align phrasing with the job listing’s language

If the output feels too generic

Do one of these:

  • Add 1–2 specific outcomes/metrics to your base CV.
  • Switch to Balanced mode for cleaner, less “salesy” language.
  • Choose a simpler template for better readability.
