Data Collection and Processing

privacy trust data processing

This page explains what data HyperApply collects and how it is processed in plain language.

For the formal policy, see `/privacy.html`.

Data HyperApply collects and stores

1) Account data

  • Email address
  • Password stored as a secure hash (not plain text)
  • Basic plan/subscription status (free/paid, usage limits)

2) CV and profile data

  • The base CV you upload
  • A structured representation of your CV (e.g., skills, experience, education) used to generate tailored documents
  • Generated CV versions (and where applicable, generated cover letters)

This data is stored so you can reuse it, regenerate, and re-download later.

3) Application history metadata

HyperApply stores minimal metadata so your history view remains useful, such as:

  • job title
  • company name
  • job listing URL
  • date generated
  • template and writing mode used
  • links to generated documents

Data that is processed transiently (not stored)

Job listing content

When you generate a CV from a job listing, HyperApply processes the job description text visible in your browser to:

  • extract relevant requirements/skills
  • tailor your CV wording and emphasis

The full job description text is not stored in the database as part of your history.

Usage and diagnostic data (limited)

HyperApply may collect limited diagnostics such as:

  • feature usage events (e.g., “generate CV”)
  • timestamps and error codes
  • performance metrics (e.g., response time)

This helps monitor reliability and enforce fair usage limits.

How processing happens (high level)

  • You request a generation action in the extension
  • HyperApply combines your base CV data with the job context to produce a tailored output
  • You review and download the result
