How to Choose a Writing Mode
On this page
HyperApply offers two writing modes so you can control tone and intensity while keeping content truthful.
The two modes
Balanced
Best for most applications.
Balanced mode aims for language that is:
- confident but grounded
- clear and specific
- less “marketing-heavy”
Use Balanced if you want:
- clean ATS-friendly wording
- a straightforward professional tone
Hyper
More energetic and punchy (still truthful).
Hyper mode is useful when:
- you want a sharper, more “high-agency” tone
- you’re applying to roles that reward energy and storytelling
- you plan to do a quick review pass before sending
How to choose (fast rule)
- If you’re unsure → choose Balanced
- If you want a stronger hook and you will review carefully → try Hyper
How to keep it honest (important)
Regardless of mode:
- remove claims you can’t defend
- keep metrics accurate
- avoid “expert in everything” phrasing
HyperApply drafts the CV, but you own the final version.
A simple workflow (recommended)
1. Generate a Balanced version.
2. If you want more punch, generate a Hyper version.
3. Compare and keep the best of both.

FAQ
Will Hyper mode exaggerate my experience?
It can use stronger phrasing, so you should review carefully and edit anything that feels inaccurate.
Which mode is best for ATS?
Balanced is typically the safest default, but both aim to stay readable and structured.
